COLUMBIA, S.C. — Meet the brightest addition to the South Carolina State Fair, Reflector and Sparkle.
“It kinda threw me by surprise," said fairgoer John Blackmon. "It’s a giant reflective-like disco ball.”
"We get all the funny comments," Reflector told News 19. "You guys are shining, you know pretty sharp, I can see myself in you.”
Made out of 6,000 mirrors, they are hoping to make people smile.
“We are here to spread happiness and joy,” Reflector said.
State Fair General Manager Nancy Smith said she wants every attraction to be one visitors can reflect on.
“Honestly, I thought first of all unique. I've never seen anything like that, and I thought, 'Wow, you know, even though they aren't tall because, you know, there are so many crowds at the fair, so even though they aren't tall, they are in the room, they are taking their presence," Smith said. "And you know what I think about when I see the different kind of entertainers are the young and old alike, but kids eyes get really big and it's like WOW, so it's that wow factor,.”
Reflector and Sparkle will be walking through the event for the entire length of the fair.
