Stolen Guns, Grenade Launcher From SC National Guard Armory Found in Car, Report Says

All three defendants face a maximum of 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and 3 years of supervised release on each firearm charges.

Lancaster, SC (WLTX) - Three Lancaster residents plead guilty to crimes involving stolen items from a National Guard Armory, as well as Walmart.

Brandon Shane Polston, 32, and co-defendants Austin Lee Ritter, 23, and Kimberly Denise Cannon, 40, plead guilty to felon in possession of firearms and possession of machine guns and a destructive device not registered to him in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record.

A traffic stop in November 2017 lead to a search of Cannon's car and the discovery of three machine guns; a pistol; grenade launcher; night vision goggles; various military items stolen from the Lancaster National Guard Armory; and stolen items from Walmart, including an employee identification badge and vest.

Polston and Ritter were later located at motel and found in possession of a small quantity of methamphetamine. Surveillance video from the motel also showed the defendants transporting bags of firearms back and forth from the car and motel room.

Various photos and text messages relating to the firearms were also found on Ritter and Cannon's cell phones, including a "selfie" of Ritter with an M-16 machine gun inside a car.

All three defendants face a maximum of 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and 3 years of supervised release on each firearm charges.
