Camden church spends the day giving back

From clothes to shoes to kitchen items, anyone in the community is allowed to come get what they need.

CAMDEN, S.C. — Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Camden spent the day Friday giving to those in the community.

"God is good, all the time, God is good," said Lottie Bracey, who came to get items to give to those who couldn't drive.

They provided clothes, shoes, and kitchen items, all in an effort to help those in the community.

"We think about people that don't have transportation to get here, so what we will do is go out and distribute some things for people that, you know, are in need," Bracey said

While tables and hangers full of clothes quickly emptied out, the president of Mt. Moriah Outreach in Camden says it's a true labor of love as her team of 8 made sure those at home gathered the items they need.

"There are so many underserved, underprivileged that are overlooked," said Mt. Moriah Outreach Francis Perry. "There are days we don't know where the next donation is coming from, but God always provides, so we keep on giving and he keeps on providing."

As for now, they have no official date for when they plan to host their next event, but Perry has one final message for those at home.

"When you reach deep down inside and you realize just how blessed you are, look around and try not to judge people by what they look like because you don't know their story. Sometimes people just need a friendly hello and a handout, so when you give, give with your heart," Perry said.
