IRMO, S.C. — A new community group in Irmo is looking to help those who need an extra hand.
Wade De Loach is an active member of the Irmo Community. He participates in everything from council conversation to decorating for the holidays.
Most recently, he is heading a new community group called Irmo Outreach to serve those in need.
"I feel like this is something that the community needs, something that will bring people together," De Loach said, "Hopefully if we have some elderly people on fixed income, or somebody disabled on fixed income or disabled that we could possibly come in and do home repairs and yard work."
De Loach says they even want to construct benches all around the town.
"Well we're going to have them in parks and businesses and hopefully there won't be a place in town you can't go and not sit down," said De Loach.
Saturday, the group is holding an interest meet and greet at The Tin Zoo on St. Andrews Rd.
"You can put in as much as you want. If there's just one specific project you want to do- that's fine," De Loach said, "If you have something- an idea that you want to do and you feel like it needs attention, come to us and let us know. If you want to head that project or want to work with us on it or there's a project that we're doing you want to get invested in just let us know and we'll be glad to work with you anyway we can."
