KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. — One person is dead after a fatal wreck in Kershaw County on Tuesday, according to South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The accident, which involved three cars, happened around 6:15 a.m. Tuesday on U.S. Highway 521, three miles south of Camden, according to Lance Corporal William Bennett with Highway Patrol.
Officials say a Dodge Ram traveling north on 521 and a Nissan SUV traveling south sideswiped each other. The Dodge Ram then struck a 2015 Dodge SUV head-on.
The driver of the Dodge Ram was taken to hospital. The two people in the Nissan SUV were not transported for injuries.
63-year-old Vivian Ann Quick of Sumter, the driver of the Dodge SUV, which was struck head-on by the pickup truck, died at the scene, according to officials. Quick, who was reportedly driving home after work at the time of the accident, was wearing a seat belt, according to Kershaw County Coroner David West.
The crash remains under investigation by South Carolina Highway Patrol.
