Camden Coffee Gals launch Operation Santa

The group of women over the age of 50 are looking to spread holiday cheer.

CAMDEN, S.C. — The holiday season is in full swing and it's also the time for giving, and for Christine Dennis and the Camden Coffee Gals, that's exactly what they are doing.

The women of the Camden Coffee Gals Club gather weekly for fellowship, friendship, and, of course, coffee.  Now they're channeling their camaraderie toward giving back to the community.

"You give time, treasure, or talent if you can do all 3 of them it’s a wonderful thing," Dennis says. "We are doing Operation Santa; we decided this year that we wanted to sponsor a local nursing home. They have 150 residents there and we are trying to make their Christmas special this year."

The women, embodying the spirit of Santa, have set up donation boxes at nine different local businesses.

2. Beaver Den at Beaver Creek Bar and Grille 3482 John C. Richards Rd Camden
