CAMDEN, S.C. — Under the full moon in the Sycamore neighborhood in Camden is a free Halloween attraction that’s truly one of a kind.
“It’s nice for the community to have something to do,” said Monica Blankenship, who came out with her family to experience the Halloween delight.
The goal of this home is to be spooky, but not too scary, for those who enter.
“I know we used to love going trick or treating with our kids, and we loved seeing houses decorated, but there were a lot of houses when they would decorate, they were scary," said creator Danielle Eichenburg. "So, when I started building up my collection of stuff, I got things kids would like that it’s a little dark in here but it’s not anything that’s going to scare anybody.”
Eichenburg spent weeks transforming her front yard into this Halloween wonderland, filled with skeletons, ghouls, and a kaleidoscope of bright lights.
“It makes me feel so excited because those little kids are what I love, because they get more excited for Halloween, and then again at Christmastime they get so excited," Eichenburg said. "So, having the paths running up and down, happy laughing, having a good time, it keeps them wanting to do it every year.”
A fan favorite is the skeleton mermaid, and of course, the zombie.
“It’s definitely worth the drive if families can come out and make it,” Blankenship said.
The display is up from 6:45-10:45 p.m. at 121 Green Ivy Court in Camden until November 5th.
