The rider was taken to an area hospital but died, officials said.

KERSHAW COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities have identified a person who died following a motorcycle crash in Kershaw County on Saturday morning.

Lance Corporal Brittany Glover with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said the crash happened on S.C. 903 (McBee Highway) at Ellis Road, roughly eight miles outside of Bethune.

Glover said a 1991 Honda motorcycle was heading south on S.C. 903 when it traveled off the right side of the road and hit a culvert. The rider was taken to an area hospital for treatment but later died.

Kershaw County Coroner David West, who said the crash happened just before 6 a.m., identified the rider as 37-year-old Tully Tillman of the Indian Land area of Lancaster County.  West said Tillman was wearing a helmet.
