LEXINGTON, S.C. — Mission Lexington hoping the community can help make sure families in the county gets beds they really need.
The crisis-ministry group says they have a partnership with Lexington One and the school district put in a request for bunk beds for a family in need.
They say the need for beds in Lexington is great because of families having to move and having to adapt to the new place they call home.
Mission Lexington is asking for your help and hope someone donates mattresses, the bed frame, or can help with funding.
Marett Bishop, the director of Social Services for Mission Lexington, says it's important we look out for one another.
“People don't ask to be in poverty. People don't ask to have needs outside of their control for their families, children, and just really being a neighbor and giving back and remembering that we're here to support each other,” explained Bishop.
If you have a bed frame or mattress you would like to donate, you can head to Mission Lexington and drop it off at the thrift store. They are located at 216 Harmon Street or they can also pick it up as well. You can call them at (803) 957-6656.
