One killed, three injured in Lexington County crash on South Lake Drive

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the two vehicles were heading in opposite directions when they collided.

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — One person died, and three others were hurt on Saturday following a crash in Lexington County, the South Carolina Highway Patrol said.

Corporal Nick Pye said the crash happened around 9:20 a.m. on South Lake Drive near Bluefield Road and involved two vehicles. Pye said a 2016 Dodge van was heading west on South Lake Drive, and a 2019 Dodge pickup truck was heading east when the two vehicles collided.

Authorities said the driver of the van was taken to an area hospital and died from injuries they sustained in the crash. Two van passengers and the truck's driver were also taken to area hospitals. The Lexington County Coroner's Office has not yet released the deceased victim's name. 

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.
