Lexington County fire: One found dead, another injured; deputies probing incident

Authorities urge anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — Deputies are investigating after fire crews responding to a fire in Lexington County overnight found one person dead and another person hurt nearby.

According to the Lexington County Sheriff's Department, Lexington County Fire Service crews responded to a burning home in the 200 block of Oak Ridge Lane and found a body inside. They also found a man with multiple injuries in a shed on the property. That person is expected to expected to recover. The deceased person inside the home hasn't yet been identified.

On Sunday afternoon, the sheriff's department announced that investigators would likely be at the scene for 48 hours. Authorities haven't provided additional information about the cause of the fire or the injured and deceased victims.
