LEXINGTON, S.C. — Authorities say one student was examined and released from an area hospital for a minor injury following a crash involving a school bus in Lexington County on Friday afternoon.
Lexington Police announced the crash in the area of Gibson Road and Elm Street around 3:15, adding that it temporarily blocked one lane. A Lexington One School District spokesperson said that the bus was transporting students from Lexington Elementary School when the crash happened.
The district said one student reported feeling pain after the crash and was taken to the hospital at the request of a parent. Officials said doctors determined the student didn't need to be admitted. Lexington Police described the student's injury as minor.
No other injuries were reported, and police announced in about an hour that the road was clear and that all parents and guardians of students on the bus had been notified of the crash.
