LEXINGTON, S.C. — The Lexington police department says power has been restored and a driver has been cited after a crash downed several power lines.

Investigators tweeted out photos from the scene on Park Road near Nightingale Court just before 10 pm Wednesday.

The department says one car was involved in the crash.

Shortly after the incident, the Dominion outage map showed several hundred customers without power.

Dominion Energy officials worked to restore power as officers assisted in redirecting traffic. Power was restored just before 11:30 pm Wednesday.

The driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Police have issued the driver citations for driving too fast for conditions and driving under suspension.
