North Lake Drive property turning into retirement community

The new retirement community will house 128 apartments.

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — A property near the Lake Murray Dam in Lexington County will be turning into a retirement community.

Street Squad found a new retirement community is coming to North Lake Drive near the dam. It's located at the intersection of North Lake Drive and Lake Murray Boulevard.

After looking through the Lexington County Parcel Viewers, the land was sold back in March of 2019. The company who bought the property is Resort Lifestyle Communities. They specialize in running independent living communities for those who are 55-year-old or older.

According to their website, the new property will turn into apartments and will be called Lakeview Retirement Community.

The company says they will house 128 apartments.
