Drugs, gun found after traffic stop turns into chase.

Orangeburg County Sheriff Leroy Ravenell announced that a routine traffic stop escalated into a 20-mile high-speed pursuit, leading to the recovery of a stolen vehicle, a stolen firearm, and illegal drugs.

“This started out as an ordinary traffic stop,” Ravenell stated. “But we ended up recovering a stolen car, a stolen rifle, and illegal drugs.”

The incident occurred in the early hours of November 19 when deputies attempted to stop a vehicle near Columbia Road and Chestnut Street in Orangeburg. The suspect, later identified as 24-year-old Tynathan Luckett of Bowman, fled, prompting a chase that ended on Stabler Road in neighboring Calhoun County.

Authorities confirmed that the Infiniti Q60 was reported stolen out of Lexington County, while the rifle had been reported stolen in Orangeburg County.

Luckett faces multiple charges, including possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of a stolen weapon, failure to stop for a blue light, improper display of a license plate, and simple possession of marijuana.
