CORDOVA, S.C. — A missing Cordova woman has been found dead, authorities confirm.
The Orangeburg County Sheriff's Office said 66-year-old Valerie Goff's Nissan Cube was found in flood waters near Glover and Andrew Dibble streets. Coroner Samuetta Marshall confirmed that Goff was deceased. She said this is the first death in Orangeburg County related to the current flooding event.
Authorities said Goff was last seen leaving her Pontiac Lane home around 3 p.m. on Thursday. She was reportedly driving to the Walgreens store on John C. Calhoun Drive in Orangeburg but never arrived.
The sheriff's office asked the community to pray for the family.
