SCDOT wants your input on replacing US 1 bridge over I-20

SCDOT says the need for this project is to “improve operations of the interchange.”

LEXINGTON, S.C. — The South Carolina Department of Transportation tweeted out on Monday they were looking for comments on replacing the Hwy. 1 bridge that goes over I-20.

This is the bridge on Augusta Road near Downtown Lexington.

You have asked Street Squad Lexington to follow the road projects going on within the county.

SCDOT says the need for this project is to “improve operations of the interchange.”

They are seeking public input until April 22nd. On SCDOT’s website, they say, “Procurement of the design-builder will begin in April 2019. A design-build contract is anticipated in Summer 2020 with final design and construction beginning thereafter.”
