SUMTER, S.C. — Roughly 2700 customers in Sumter County have power again after an outage on Sunday night.
According to Duke Energy's outage maps, three clustered outages were reported south of U.S. 378, impacting an estimated 2,774 customers in western parts of Sumter and portions of the Audubon Park and Archdale communities.
Duke Energy said the outages were reported just before 9 p.m. and initially had estimated restoration times between 11:45 p.m. and 12:15 a.m. It said the outages were caused by "damage to major power lines" but didn't say how the damage occurred.
