SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities say 25 people have been displaced following a Saturday night fire in Sumter County.

A Sumter Fire spokesperson said the fire was at the Sharolyn Motel in the 4200 block of Broad Street. The address is across the street from Shaw Air Force Base. Crews responded around 8:50 p.m. and were still on the scene hours later. The fire department reported no injuries. Officials said the cause is still under investigation and will be handled by the Sumter County Sheriff's Office.

Officials didn't have details on how badly the building burned, but a photo from the scene after the flames were brought under control shows significant damage to the front and eve section of one of the motel's buildings.
