SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. — Sumter Police have released the name of a man they believe is tied to multiple business break-ins in the area.

The department said on Thursday that 48-year-old Michael Channing Moses is a suspect in the burglary of multiple convenience stores and other businesses since the middle of April.

The department didn't name the specific businesses they believe Moses may have broken into. However, authorities said the Dalzell man is facing five counts of second-degree burglary along with other unnamed charges related to them.

Police said Moses was last known to live in the Cannery Road area and they're hoping anyone with information about him will call the Sumter Police Department at 803-436-2700.

Tipsters can also contact Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC or at CrimeSC.com. Those with information could also be eligible for a reward if the details provided lead to an arrest.
