SUMTER, S.C. — A missing 65-year-old man who went missing from an area care facility on Wednesday has been found safe, according to Sumter police.
Police had said Anderson Harrington Jr., who lives at a residential care facility on North Main Street, was reported missing on Thursday after leaving the facility around 11 a.m. on Wednesday and not returning home. Authorities said Harrington has left in the past and has several medical conditions that require him to take medication.
Officials described him as about 6 feet 7 inches tall and 130 pounds. He was last seen wearing a burgundy sweatshirt and gray shorts or pants. Anyone who may know Harrington's location can call Sumter Police at 803-436-2700. In an emergency, call 911.
