SUMTER, S.C. — Sumter Police are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information related to a man they believe fired a gun into an occupied home on Wednesday morning.

Sumter Police believe someone fired into the home of 21-year-old Ty’heim Anthony James around 7 a.m. and then drove away. In response, police believe James left his home and began firing a gun along Robney Drive and into another home near his own.

Authorities said several people, including children, were home at the time the home was struck by gunfire, but no one was injured. Another property nearby and a vehicle were damaged, however. James is charged with firing into an occupied dwelling, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Police urge anyone who may know James' location to call the Sumter Police Department at 803-436-2700 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC. The department is also still looking for the person who fired into James' home.
