SUMTER, S.C. — Sumter Police say one person is in custody after a Friday morning shooting outside a fast-food restaurant.
A police spokesperson said officers responded to the Burger King near the intersection of Calhoun and Green streets around 9:45 a.m. While many details are still limited due to the ongoing investigation, police said the shooting involved two people who know each other and is considered an isolated incident.
One person was taken into custody to be interviewed and another was taken to an area hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound. Officers are working to determine what led up to the shooting.
