SUMTER, S.C. — A driver is recovering after being shot by someone in another vehicle in Sumter on Friday afternoon.
Sumter Police said the shooting happened around 2:45 p.m. near the intersection of Liberty and Purdy streets. Police believe both vehicles were heading west on Liberty Street when the suspect fired shots into the other vehicle. The 28-year-old victim was struck and is now being treated at an area hospital. Police said the victim is expected to survive.
