SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. — Authorities say a 15-year-old is dead after being struck by a vehicle in Sumter County on Sunday morning.
Sumter County Coroner Robbie Baker said the incident happened on Britton Road and was called in around 5:45 a.m. to 6 a.m. He said the victim, 15-year-old Marvin Butler, died at the scene of the crash, and an autopsy is planned for the upcoming week.
Baker said the South Carolina Highway Patrol's Multi-disciplinary Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) is investigating the crash. News19 has requested additional information about the incident from the highway patrol.
