Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- Former USC quarterback and current radio play-by-play man Todd Ellis can relate to the situation Hurricane Matthew has created in Columbia and across the southeast.
In 1989 Hurricane Hugo made landfall in Charleston County on September 22, 1989 causing massive devastation across the area.
The following day Ellis and Gamecocks hosted Georgia Tech at Williams-Brice Stadium where they defeated the Yellow Jackets 21-10 in front of 70-thousand people.
Despite the furry Matthew is expected to cause from Florida to South Carolina, Ellis says playing a day later shouldn't have much affect on the players.
