Woman arrested in West Columbia bank robbery

The person robbed the bank around 11:30 a.m., according to officers.

WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. — West Columbia Police say they've arrested a woman in connection with Thursday's robbing of a bank in town.

The incident took place around 11:30 a.m. at the Security Federal Bank located at 1185 #B on Sunset Boulevard.  

According to police,  the supsect, 30-year-old Satorius Zayevon Martin, entered the bank and took money. They'd earlier told News19 the suspect intimated that she had a gun but never actually presented a weapon. There were no reported injuries. 

She was arrested around 1:30 p.m., according to officers. 

Offficers said the FBI and the Lexington County Sheriff's Office helped them in their efforts to find her, and their joint effort led to them quickly identifying her as a suspect and locating her. 

"We are grateful for the quick and coordinated response by our officers and partners at the FBI and the Lexington County Sheriff's Department," said Police Chief Marion Boyce in a statement. "This arrest is a testament to the dedication and professionalism of all the law enforcement personnel involved."

Police said Martin was being taken to the Lexington County Detention Center to await her first court appearance.
