Columbia, SC (WLTX)- Keeping up with the latest recalled foods is important for the health of you and your family, but what should you do if you've accidentally eaten something recalled?
Palmetto Poison Center Director Jill Michels said you should not pre-treat potential symptoms.
"Sometimes trying to treat something that's not there, people are going to harm themselves in different ways," Michels said. "So don't try to eat anything or drink anything that's going to flush it out of your system; that's not how it works."
Michels said if you do get food poisoning, you should call a doctor if symptoms last for more than 48 hours.
