Greenville, SC (WLTX) - "'Tis the season for increased package theft." That's how one South Carolina police department describes the months leading up to Christmas.
Greenville police say that in theses holiday months they see an increase in packages being stolen from homes, especially as shopping online continues to become the norm for holiday shopping.
Officers are already looking for at least one suspected thief shown in the video and picture above. In the video, she can be seen stealing a rather large package right from the front porch.
As they ask for help identifying these suspect, the department is also asking residents to be diligent when it comes to mail:
- Install security cameras, which work as a deterrent and way to help solve crime.
- Have packages delivered to your work.
- Coordinate with neighbors and friends to pick up, or keep an eye out, for deliveries at your residence.
