Pelion, SC (WLTX) - Pelion police have arrested a man and charged him with kidnapping and attempted criminal sexual conduct.
According to police, on Tuesday August 28 they responded to a 911 hang up call at the 1800 Block of Water Tank Road.
Upon arrival, officers found a 21 year old female in a “frantic condition” who stated that someone was trying to rape her.
The victim was transported to Lexington Medical Center with significant bruising and swelling. She was later released from the hospital.
After a thorough investigation, the suspect was identified as Vincent Morings, who police say is a convicted sex offender with an extensive criminal history.
According to officers,tThe investigation showed that Morings lured the victim to his house and refused to let her leave. When the victim fled on foot, Morings chased her into the woods, threw her down on the ground several times, and pulled her pants down. The victim was able to escape and dial 911.
orings has been charged with Attempted Criminal Sexual Conduct 1st Degree and Kidnapping. Mornings is currently being held without bond.
