Want to know more about CBD? Zoom call to answer all questions

LRADAC, a non-profit alcohol and drug abuse treatment and prevention agency, will answer questions.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — If you've spent anytime driving around the Midlands you might have noticed CBD stores popping up. You may have even seen CBD products sold at your local grocery stores.

So, what is CBD?

If you have questions about the safety, use and possible addiction, an upcoming question and answer session about CBD has been planned.

LRADAC is hosting a free ZOOM meeting on Wednesday, March 22 to talk about CBD, the facts and fiction of THC, and hemp products.

Delta Eight is another name you may have seen in ads or online.  Experts will explain what this is and break down exactly what it is and talk about what the risks can be.

Is it legal in South Carolina?

The quick answer is yes and it is legal under federal law.  However, in order to be legal it must not contain THC-tetrahydrocannabinol.

Are any of these products safe for kids?

News 19’s Andrea Mock sat down with Ashley Bodiford, the Director of Prevention for LRADAC, to preview the Zoom class and talk more about what users need to know.

The Food and Drug Administration said in January 2023 there are too many unknowns about CBD products to regulate them as foods or supplements under the agency’s current structure and called on Congress to create new rules for the massive and growing market.
