COLUMBIA, S.C. — A South Carolina woman is much more wealthy after purchasing a winning lottery ticket at a Columbia-area store.
The winner bought her $10 Grand Stacks ticket at the Community Mart at 4101 Monticello Road in Columbia. After scratching the ticket, she told South Carolina Education Lottery officials she had to look at it again just to be sure she'd just won $500,000. She described the moment as "amazing."
The win also left the store with a $5,000 commission. There are still two top prizes in the Grand Stacks game, and the odds of winning are one in 1,440,000.
