SANTEE, S.C. — Someone who bought a lottery ticket in Santee might want to check their pockets.
The South Carolina Education Lottery reports that someone bought a ticket worth hundreds of thousands of dollars at a convenience store. The Palmetto Cash 5 ticket matched all five numbers drawn on Dec. 29 and, with the $1 Power-Up, went from $100,000 to $300,000.
The odds of winning $300,000 playing the Palmetto Cash 5 are one in 1,405,438.
Officials said the ticket was purchased at the EZ Trip #2 convenience store located at 5290 Five Chop Road.
The winning numbers were 2-8-11-15-17 with a Power-Up of 3.
Now, the clock is ticking. Purchasers have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prize.
