The winner has 180 days from the drawing date to claim their prize.

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. — As the jackpot continues to rise, someone in South Carolina is already a major Powerball winner.

The South Carolina Education Lottery reports that a winning ticket from Wednesday's drawing worth $1 million was sold in North Augusta. The ticket matched all five white ball numbers: 11, 38, 41, 62, and 65. Lottery officials said Quik Trip #1197 at 930 Edgefield Road sold the ticket.

The winner has 180 days from the drawing date to claim their prize. Meanwhile, the big $1.23 billion jackpot is still up for grabs. South Carolina residents have until 9:59 p.m. to purchase tickets for the 10:59 p.m. drawing on Saturday.

Lottery officials said the odds of winning the big prize are about one in 293 million. The last big Powerball win was on New Year's Day in Michigan.
