GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) - The body of an Air Force pilot who was killed while on a deployment to fight Islamic State extremists is being returned to Colorado.

Capt. William DuBois' casket is set to arrive in Grand Junction, Colorado around midday Thursday. The Glenwood Springs Post Independent (http://bit.ly/1zTLaeS) reports people are being asked to line the route from the airport to the funeral home.

Gov. John Hickenlooper has also ordered that flags be lowered to half-staff in honor of DuBois, who was killed Dec. 1 when he crashed his F-16 jet before beginning the combat portion of his flight.

DuBois, from New Castle, Colorado, was assigned the 77th Fighter Squadron based at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina. He leaves a wife he married two days before his deployment.
