We're a day away from knowing whether Donald Trump will win the Indiana Republican primary, but it is clear he has won the former-prominent-college-coach primary in the Hoosier State.
Lou Holtz, the former Notre Dame head football coach, in a video message Trump shared on Twitter Monday said, "I wholeheartedly endorse Donald Trump as the next president of the United States. There's nothing but winners in Indiana."
Holtz was the head coach of the Fighting Irish from 1986 to 1996 and later coached at South Carolina before becoming an ESPN college football analyst.
And why Trump? Holtz explained that he'd stayed at Trump's hotel and played at his golf course.
"He does nothing but go first class in everything. He wants this country to be first class as well."
Trump also is supported by legendary former Indiana basketball coach Bobby Knight, who's apparently forgiving of typos, and former Purdue basketball coach Gene Keady.
