The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for a missing man aboard an overdue sailing vessel.
Mark Carroll, 58, left Hampton Roads on Thursday evening with the intent to travel south to North Carolina, according to a Facebook post from U.S. Coast Guard Mid-Atlantic. He was sailing a vessel with a blue hull called “Ceol Mor.” The last communication with the vessel was on Friday evening.
A C130 crew from Air Station Elizabeth City is currently conducting a trackline search of the area, and local Coast Guard units are conducting shoreline searches.
