LIVINGSTON, Texas — Recent rainfall and flooding have caused issues at the Lake Livingston Dam -- particularly the spillway of the dam.
Trinity River Authority officials said the dam's drainage area was compromised, leading to them issuing a "potential failure watch," which means officials will monitor and evaluate the spillway's integrity and make repairs or take other actions as necessary.
They said there's no immediate danger of failure, but the possibility is there.
"The day-to-day operation of the dam will continue as necessary, although normal gate operations may vary as conditions dictate," river authority officials said in a news release.
They said updates would be issued as needed.
