HARTFORD, Conn. — Attention Connecticut residents, the United States Postal Service announced on Friday its recommended mailing and shipping dates for holiday mail and packages this holiday season.

According to USPS, these are the recommended “send-by dates” for expected delivery before the Christmas holiday on Dec. 25.

For items sent to addresses in the contiguous U.S., or lower 48 states, one should mail a package out by Wednesday, Dec. 18 for USPS Ground Advantage Service. For First-Class Mail Service, one should mail their item out by Dec. 18 as well. This is if they want to arrive at their destinations by Christmas.

For Priority Mail Service, one must send their package out by Thursday, Dec. 19, and for Priority Mail Express Service, USPS recommends sending an item out by Saturday, Dec. 21.

When it comes to mailing items to addresses in Hawaii and Alaska, USPS recommends using its Ground Advantage service by Monday, Dec. 16 if a package is to arrive at its destination by Christmas. First-Class Mail service should be used by Wednesday, Dec. 18 for the same destinations and results.
