FORSYTH COUNTY, N.C. – An Amber Alert for a missing 15-year-old Forsyth County teenager has been canceled per, Chief Deputy Stanley with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.
An Amber Alert was issued around 2:00 a.m. for Cassidy Ann Bottoms. However, investigators have canceled it because they said it no longer meets the requirements for an Amber Alert.
Deputies said a suspect, Deshawn Townes, 24, turned himself into police at the Sanford Police Department.
Investigators said they now believe Bottoms is in Sanford with Joffey Cutler.
No charges have been filed against Townes at this time. Investigators said they’re still trying to find out if Bottoms voluntarily left or was forced.
