HORRY COUNTY, S.C. — "Never buy, borrow, or otherwise take or handle pills provided by someone else or intended for someone else."
That's the advice Horry County police hope everyone follows after a drug bust in their county earlier this month.
Two guns, a Glock 27 and Draco, were found at a residence on Wesley Street near Myrtle Beach on April 16. Three grams of heroin was also found, however, it was packaged into gel capsules.
A 2006 Ford Focus was also seized from the location.
A suspect, identified as 21-year-old Caleb Wade Sexton, was arrested and charged with four counts of possession with intent to distribute heroin and unlawful carry of a weapon.
Aside from the arrest and drug seizure, police say this is a lesson in safety.
"This incident is a strong reminder to be careful when handling pills — items may not always be what they appear," police said. "To avoid or reduce the risk of accidental exposure to alternative substances, community members should only take those pills that were specifically intended for them."
