ORANGEBURG, S.C. — Orangeburg School Districts 3, 4 and 5 say they are prepared for Wednesday's "SC for Ed" rally at the Statehouse.
Here's a breakdown of how the event will impact schools in the Orangeburg area:
Tomorrow all public schools in the county will operate on a normal schedule, but administrators are prepared for teacher absences.
News 19 reached out to all districts and learned that four teachers from District 4 intend to be absent for the rally, but will be covered by substitutes.
District 5 has received and approved 38 request from teachers who are expected to attend the rally. District 5 issued the following statement:
District 5 will continue to monitor the situation as the day goes on. They that although they support the rights of their teachers to voice their legislative concerns, they are also concerned about proper coverage in the class room.
