Columbia, SC (WLTX, AP) - South Carolina voters cast their ballots for candidates for races ranging from the governor's office all the way to county school boards and local mayors.
In some cases, they were asked asked to vote for funding for schools, or to approve Sunday sales of alcohol. All voters statewide were asked if they want to either appoint or elect state school superintendents from now on.
South Carolina voters chose a governor, six other statewide officers, and all seven U.S. House seats. All 124 state House seats were up for re-election, but 68 of them are uncontested.
As of Friday, election officials say 230,000 people already cast ballots with two days of early voting left. That's a 46 percent increase from 2014 early voting, which set a midterm record.
