Police search for missing man 'in crisis' who may be heading to Midlands

Authorities believe he may also be armed.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Police from a South Carolina coastal town are asking the public to keep an eye out for a missing man they said may be in crisis and heading to the Columbia area.

According to a statement released by the Surfside Beach Police Department on Saturday, they are looking for 50-year-old Billy Hall who is believed to be driving a black 2021 Audi A6 with a South Carolina license plate reading ULU503.

Authorities described Hall as missing and endangered. They also believe he may be armed. While the statement didn't suggest exactly where he was going or why, it said he may be on the way to the Midlands area of the state.

He is described as being about 5 feet 11 inches tall and 218 pounds. He is said to be balding with green eyes.

Anyone who sees Hall or the vehicle is urged to call Surfside Beach Police at 843-913-6368 and choose option 1. The department listed the case number as 23004395.
