COLUMBIA, S.C. — Richland County deputies are searching for a suspect they say robbed a bank in northeast Columbia Tuesday.
Deputies say the man entered the TD Bank on the 8800 block of Farrow Road around 3:40 p.m. and handed a note to a bank teller, requesting money.
When the suspect tried to flee, the teller reportedly went to his car, retrieved a personal gun and shot at the suspect. The suspect didn't present a gun or say he had one during the robbery, according to a report.
It is unclear if the suspect suffered any injuries, but deputies say no customers or employees were injured during the incident.
A search continues for the suspect, who managed to get away from the scene with an unknown amount of cash. Deputies are currently searching behind the bank, and near Rabon and Farrow roads.
