Suspect hit South Carolina State trooper with car, officers say

A suspect drove away after hitting a highway patrolman in Orangeburg County.

ORANGEBURG, S.C. — State troopers are investigating a hit and run involving one of their highway patrolman. 

A highway patrolman was hit in Orangeburg County around 11 p.m. on Monday night. 

According to law enforcement, the suspect drove off from a driver's licence checkpoint on Till Road near Langley Road. The car was a four door Honda Accord. The officer's dash cam recorded an image of the suspect that officers are searching for. 

The trooper is expected to make a full recovery, and was released from the hospital.
