Suspect wanted for killing 3 people arrested in Greenwood motel

SLED said the person wanted in the shooting deaths of three people in Abbeville was arrested early Monday morning.

GREENWOOD, S.C. — The State Law Enforcement Division said the person wanted in the shooting deaths of three people has been arrested.

SLED spokesperson Thom Berry told News19 that 19-year-old Elijay Ty Rez Head was arrested around 1:30 a.m. Monday morning at a motel in Greenwood.

SLED said that Abbeville police were called to an apartment complex around 3 a.m. Sunday, where they found four people shot.

The Abbeville coroner's office says two of them - 62-year-old Shirley Jean Jones and 26-year-old Steven Tinch - were dead when authorities arrived. The other victims were taken to the hospital where one - 24-year-old Johntavier Moss - later died.

Berry says authorities believe the encounter began outside of an apartment in the parking lot.
