OMAHA, Neb. — Former South Carolina head baseball coach Mark Kingston has found a new job.
Creighton University in Omaha has named Kingston associate head coach for 2025 but he will take over the program as head coach in 2026. He was named the successor to Ed Servais who will retire after the 2025 campaign.
Kingston spent seven seasons in Columbia, going 217-155 overall record and 83-96 in the SEC. He led the program to a pair of Super Regional appearances and four post-season appearances in six full seasons, with the 2020 season cut short in March due to COVID. He was fired on June 3 after the Gamecocks lost 2-0 to James Madison in the Raleigh Regional. Carolina finished 37-25 in Kingston's final season in Columbia.
A former Purdue assistant, Kingston's first head coaching job was at Illinois State, where he was previously an assistant. He spent five seasons leading that program before taking over at South Florida, where he spent three seasons in Tampa before coming to South Carolina.
Now, Kingston will return to the Midwest with the Creighton Blue Jays, who compete in the Big East Conference. Creighton plays its home games at Charles Schwab Field Omaha, the site of the College World Series.
