LEXINGTON, S.C. — Opening night for the Lexington County Blowfish is always special but 2024 offers something a little different.
Friday night's home game against Macon will mark the 10th year of Blowfish Baseball in Lexington and the 19th overall for the Coastal Plain League franchise.
The last time the Blowfish were on their home field, it was in August when they defeated Wilmington to win the CPL championship.
So, when they take the field against Macon in Friday's season opener, the Blowfish will not only be looking to defend that title, but the pursuit of a second consecutive Petitt Cup and third overall for the team will begin in earnest.
Game time Friday night is set for 7:05 p.m. at the Lexington County Baseball Stadium.
