The Alex English Basketball Skills Camp brings out the stars to deliver a strong message to the kids

A day after South Carolina's Ashlyn Watkins spoke at his camp, the Basketball Hall of Famer brought in PJ Dozier who recently signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The Alex English Basketball Skills Camp continued Wednesday at Cardinal Newman and the special guest speaker for that day was Spring Valley graduate and former Gamecock standout PJ Dozier, a member of the 2017 Final Four team.

Dozier, who just wrapped up a season playing in Europe, signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves a couple of weeks ago. This year will mark PJ's eighth season in the professional ranks, his seventh in the NBA.

His journey to the NBA was challenging as an undrafted free agent in 2017, not what he expected after that magical 2017 year. Dozier fully expected to be drafted but when he wasn't, he began the process of auditioning for various teams and at this point of his career, he has previously suited it up for the Thunder, Celtics, Nuggets and Kings.

Minnesota will be his fifth NBA team and while his NBA career has had its share of peaks and valleys, that message of overcoming adversity was delivered to the kids who attended the English basketball camp.
